Free Speech for Me, but Not for Thee
On Elon's Free Speech App
On Sunday, July 5 I posted Patriot Front General Director Thomas Rousseau’s inspiring speech that he gave in Washington, D.C. alongside 400 patriots. The response was staggering. However, on Tuesday, July 7, I was suspended without warning. By this point, my original post had over 1.2 million impressions, 10,000+ likes, nearly 10,000 bookmarks, and had been shared by accounts with 10s-100s of thousands of followers.
I had a feeling my account was not long for the world of X. Whether it was a coordinated mass attack by the violent leftists who haven’t yet migrated to bluesky or X’s ADL-run “Trust and Safety” team, I’m not sure. Probably both.
Since then, innumerable accounts, some small and some with 10s of thousands of followers, have been suspended. For what crime? Speech. Ideas that Elon, the ADL, and blue hairs don’t like. I posted a video of a speech, others reposted it, and some only mentioned Patriot Front. It didn’t matter.
Patriot Front made an official X account and it was suspended in less than 90 minutes.
The irony of all of this is on Elon Musk. Musk bought Twitter in 2022 for a $45 billion price tag. He was all over the platform and podcast scene talking about how bad it was in regard to free speech. He treated it as a sacred mission to make the purchase in order to protect free speech and give a platform back to the many who had been silenced under Jack’s soyboy regime.
Icarus flew too close to the sun.
Under this promise of a new dawn, many who had been de-platformed returned. Alex Jones, Nick Fuentes, Donald Trump, the list goes on. To name a few of the many people Jack and his merry band of Silicon Valley SJWs deemed too egregious to be allowed to exercise their constitutional right as Americans.
I need not invoke literary dramatic effect to say that Thomas Rousseau and Patriot Front were not allowed back under Musk’s ownership. Despite the fact he had “fed-jacketing” them on Joe Rogan’s podcast and making claims they would fall apart when DOGE cut Biden-era funding, they still exist. Despite SPLC documents coming out alleging funding to other pro-White organizations, Patriot Front wasn’t on there.
Despite the doxxing, de-banking, de-platforming, and every other cowardly tactic in the book, they exist and they aren’t going away.
Days since the historic speech in our nation’s capitol, Patriot Front is still garnering massive attention, both positive and negative, on X. Then the bans started happening. They are still happening. It doesn’t matter if you are a member of the organization or not. If you talk positively about them, you’re gone.
Frojax, an awesome duo of brothers Forrest and Jaxon, were in the middle of live-streaming on X, YouTube, and Rumble when their account was rug pulled. This is disgraceful.
The one place Patriot Front and its supporters have been allowed to participate in public discourse, unmolested by a corporation, has been Gab and Telegram. Andrew Torba, the owner, has protected free speech on his platform. Many on our side politically have found a welcome haven on Torba’s site. I have begun pushing for anyone patriotic, pro-White, or simply pro-free speech, to move there.
It is long past due that we stop giving our money, data, and time to companies who hate us and what we stand for. All over social media we see our people promoting their businesses, products, intentional communities, etc. We should all be supporting them. Need milk? Spend the extra dollar or two to buy it from a local rancher who shares your values. Need clothes? Buy it from the person who is making them in their garage with American-made materials. STOP GIVING YOUR MONEY TO PEOPLE WHO WOULDN’T URINATE ON YOU IF YOU WERE ON FIRE. Stop enriching those who would see you thrown in a gulag for holding the wrong opinions.
Alongside the many issues this country is facing today, we need a push to stop corporations and organizations from firing employees or banning participation in online discourse for having the “wrong” views. The Founding Fathers made the freedom of speech and right to assembly the first amendment for a reason. To protect our people from the tyranny of censorship.
Here’s the thing. An X account? I can have one back in a few minutes. It’s annoying, but whatever. Free speech? Once you allow it to be taken from you, it isn’t coming back. When you start allowing little concessions, it rapidly snowballs. Much like we see with the American and European surveillance apparatus. Americans have notoriously been anti-censorship and anti-surveillance. We have the right to privacy protected in our constitution. However, since 9/11 we have continuously allowed more and more of it to be stripped away in the name of “national security.”
Where does it end?
It doesn’t. When you give some of your rights away, albeit however well-intentioned, the rest will fall with them.
It’s as the old saying goes. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. And our nation is going to hell in a handbasket.
I hope things change. I hope the people being silenced are reinstated. I hope Elon hears the pleas, but I have little hope. We fight, regardless.
